May 2015

What an amazing, special, emotional, lovely month this has been. We have had something to celebrate- sometimes multiple things each week! First Mothers Day, Brad's Birthday. Brads Dissertation Defense. Our 7 year Anniversary. The Adoption Finalization. Brad's Post Doc for next year and  the most precious moment of all- the Oquirrh Mountain Temple Sealing. God has watched over us and blessings poured forth this month.

My first Mother's Day- I love my sleeping, peaceful boys. Most especially my brown eyed little man.

Jefferson loves his Grandparents.

We celebrated Brad's 35th birthday at a Karaoke place. I sang "Lets Hear it for the Boy" for him with my friends. Brad defended and passed his dissertation and we celebrated with some friends at Ruth Chris Steakhouse. Mmmmm so good. Brad was given a special Post Doc position at the U of U next year. He will be publishing his research and organizing a conference- hopefully in Belgium.

Jefferson has been eating all sorts of vegetables, fruits, and even beans. He is liking real food- though he does make some funny faces the first time he tastes something new. His favorite so far is peas and avocado.

We found time to go to the Zoo with Dixie, and Jefferson was in awe with the bird show, and liked but then got scared on the Carousel.

Jefferson is 6 months- sitting up, sleeping through the night, and exploring everything with his mouth.

We were able to finalize the adoption and had our special sealing in the Oquirrh Mountain Temple. So even though in our hearts he was always ours, now he is officially ours by the State law and by God's law. What a special month this will always be. May- the month we officially became a family.

April 2015

Spring spring spring! Our pansies made it through the winter! Our tulips burst forth with color! We made a makeshift front porch lounging area where Jefferson and I love to sit and people watch.

On one of our walk to the lake we found baby ducks walking with their parents. It was so fun to watch Jefferson's reaction to these new things!

We decorated for Easter and had a lovely Easter dinner with our Dennis family.

Jefferson experienced his first annual Jefferson Family Easter Egg Hunt! This gets more fun every year. It was so fun to watch the grand kids search for eggs- especially when they realized the eggs have candy in them!

Brad "proved his manhood" by replacing our kitchen faucet and was declared someones favorite uncle.

And Jefferson continues to be the cutest! He is rolling every which way. He started eating some basic solids and is sleeping much better, though not all the way through the night yet. He discovered his "play station" and loves it. And he is such a big boy holding his own bottle now. We are so grateful for our little man. We have big things coming up in May and our hearts are full of gratitude.
