September 2023

Usually in September we are singing "wake we up when September ends, because someone if not all of us gets sick or has some sort of crisis. But happily this year September was quite smooth- lots of soccer and adjusting to the school schedule. Jefferson and Carter are in the creative stage of life. Jefferson has been building inventions for his room and our basement has turned into Lego world and building zone. Our favorite Carterism this month was when he was upset with his brother and yelled "Jefferson you are disturbing me!" We have been eating our garden this month and Carter surprised us with "Mmmm zuchinni, my favorite" and "I love butter squash." He snubbed his mama's rolls, when he said "I only like grandma's rolls." And we are pretty sure Carter has been throwing away his socks if they don't have any "guys" on them. They keep us laughing every day! We had a few sleepovers and lots of fun with cousins this month. We had one last swim party. We tried to get up the mountains every weekend we could. We puppy sat Rufio (cousin Liz's dog) and had a blast playing with him. We took a ride up the ski lift to the top of Solitude. And we got to go to our first pro-soccer game. We were in charge of the Guatemala booth for Dia de Los Naciones and served fiambre. Jefferson made the Guatemalan flag by himself and at the end of the festival said of all the food from the other countries, fiambre was his favorite. We watched Dixie and Liam while both Angie and Ryan worked at FanX for 3 days. We love how much time and fun our kids get to have with their cousins. We hiked to Oktoberfest and enjoyed all the fall colors and some German food and dancing. We are ready for all the fall fun to start.
