March 2016

We have had an exciting March, As it warmed up we enjoyed playing outside.  Dixie taught Jefferson how to go down the slide and now he LOVES slides, and making slides out of couch cushions. We celebrated St. Patricks day with friends and family and ate plenty of corned beef and cabbage to satisfy till next year.

Jefferson is 16 months and loves walking around exploring new things. He is liking puzzles and building blocks. He likes to mimic what we do and put things away and then claps for himself. We are trying to transition him to a sippy cup but he loves his bottle- other than that he seems to be on track with everything. He had his first haircut and he sat so well through it, but it was a little emotional for mommy. He is loving the piano and plays gently when reminded but loves to find the organ button. He was able to stay with both sets of grandparents while we visited France and came back just a little spoiled. Thank you Mom and Dad Dennis and Mom and Dad Jefferson for taking such good care of our little boy. We are so grateful to you.

Brad and I took a 12 day tour of France which was supposed to be on our way for his research conference in Brussels but because of the terrorist bombings in Brussles the conference was canceled and we had 3 more days in Paris. We were about to buy our train tickets in Paris to Brussels when we found out about the bombing. Our hearts go out to those who lost loved ones, and hope for a speedy recovery for those who were injured. More than ever before we are filled with gratitude for being alive, living in a country where for the most part we always feel safe, and for the power of prayer to bring peace. We had a magical time in France and Paris and chose to put aside the fears of the darkness in our world and see the beautiful light and LIVE and we were rewarded with an unforgettable experience.
