Happy Birthday Mom

Dear Mom,

Thank you for teaching me to live each day with passion. Thanks for all of the cultural enriching experiences you provided for us growing up. They made life fun and happen to be some of my favorite memories. Thank you for always believing in me and my march to the beat of a different drum. You are always there to support me even when I feel alone in my challenges. Thank you for raising me on old movies and musicals they brought the joy of music into my life at a young age. Thank you for trying to probe when I sound distant, it's nice to know you care about all of the happenings in my life. Thank you for going out of your way to support and think of my husband, we both greatly appreciate it. Thank you for setting an example of a woman of faith and service, I try to live up to it. Have a happy birthday Mom. I love you.

Oscar Night with the Jeffersons

This past weekend we enjoyed Oscar Night with Mom and Dad, Jon and Laura, and Angie and Ryan. This is the new age Gold & Green Ball of the Canyon Rim Stake. Brad and I learned and have committed to practice the 4 new dances we learned. Even with our height difference we look pretty smooth. Maybe we will try out the MAC sometime and compare our beginner skills with the skillful elderly.

The 2011 St. Patricks Day Parade

We love festivals and one of the first festivals of the year is the St. Patricks day parade in downtown Salt Lake. Everyone was in green, even the dogs were dressed up much to their dismay. The bagpipes were our favorite part of the parade. At the Siamsa we sat by a group of older Irish Catholics who could hold their drink and were quite amusing company. For lunch we shared the Irish Stew, Corn Beef and Cabbage, Apple Beer, and Irish Soda Bread. Yum Yum! The Irish know how to have a good time.

Sometimes you just feel like being a kid...

and making sugar cookies, snacking on the frosting and breaking a cookie just so it's not good enough to give away and you get to eat it.
