January 2017

A new year with our 2 year old has brought laughter and challenges. Jefferson is learning new words everyday- he is very expressive when he is happy and when is not he sure lets you know. He goes back and forth with wanting to be a baby or a big boy. He loves to see "friends" and gets excited going to church especially so he can "see friends" and "play." We have had fun this month starting a homeschool/preschool plan with lots of calendar time, trips to museums, the library, sensory activities, and play dates. Each week we focused on a different concept- birds, snow, penguins, the world, and sports. It amazes me how much Jefferson soaks in and how fun having theme weeks are for our family. This is a program we are definitely going to continue throughout the year.

We played with trucks in the mud (pudding)!

We took our first trip to the Aquarium and got passes for the year so we can continue the fun.

We discovered the best time to go to "The Museum" to have it almost all to ourselves. Jefferson worked with an older girl to make a castle. Every time we go to the museum he gets super excited saying "zeom, zeom" and clapping his hands.

Jefferson discovered a new favorite play area- the pantry. He likes to go in, stand on the step stool, close the door, and go to work "making dinner" while mama makes dinner right outside.

He LOVES his books and has started saying the words with us. He also likes "reading" on his own in the most unique places.

We had a snow flake party. Jefferson used scissors for the first time- cutting his own snow flake. Brad got out his drill for his "manly" snowflake- ha ha.

We took Dixie to the Aquarium and saw the penguins dance.

We went up the mountains to escape the inversion and play in the snow. It was so beautiful. We love our mountains! We pulled Jefferson up on the sled and then slid down together.
