December 2022

So grateful for a magical December! We welcomed in the Christmas season with chriskindlmarkt with mom and dad Jefferson. We watched the parade and checked out the fun boutiques and found our wooden advent that is the perfect Christmas decoration addition for our home. We got some snow and Carter wanted to sled on his penguin sled all day. We had a schedule glitch and missed Light the Night so instead saw the candy windows and lights without the crowds- just missed seeing the gingerbread houses. We went to our neighborhood's Night of Giving and the boys gave Santa gifts for kids in need. Jefferson remembered exactly what he wanted to tell Santa "I want a watch and the Metallica black album CD." But Carter froze and then remembered with Jefferson's help "oh I want a bunch of legos." This year for our Christmas craft we decorated a kids Christmas tree in the basement complete with a paper chain around it. We went to the extended Hebdon Christmas party and Carter loved holding the sign for 12 Days of Christmas and we got to visit with Santa again and get some family pictures with our Christmas sweaters. Mom and Dad Dennis came over for our gingerbread house party and we discovered Dad Dennis is much better at decorating gingerbread people than Brad- LOL! We were Santa's elves and picked out some gifts for the library angel tree. Angie and Ryan were in charge of our Jefferson cultural dinner and 1st family talent show. This year Brazilian french toast- yummy! We had a magic night downtown checking out the Grand America holiday windows, giant gingerbread house, candy windows, temple square nativities, and riding on the train. We ended the night with a sing along concert at Vivint. We visited grandma great and played piano duets and word games. Aunt Marce came over for our annual cookie making and Christmas sing along. This year Jefferson played 3 songs on the piano-just started learning in January. We had lots of cozy nights puzzling and watching Christmas movies and morning dance parties after reading books on mamas bed. We spent Christmas Eve with our Jefferson family and the cousins acted out the nativity and then came home to set up cookies for Santa and read the Night before Christmas and finish our scripture nativity. Christmas morning was magic, the boys were so happy with their gifts from Santa and grandparents came over for brunch and Christmas bells and then we spent Christmas dinner with the rest of our Dennis family. We were so happy to get some snow during the break and it was perfect snow for a snowball fight and building a giant snowman. We kept busy doing lots of art projects that Santa gave us and the sweetest Carter moment was when he said "I want to say thank you to Santa for my ukulele and legos" . We went to a movie as a family and Carter was enthralled with it all- his first time in a movie theater. And we ended the year with all of our Jefferson family for Noonyears eve- giant balloons, puzzle, games, and karaoke fun. Welcome 2023 and all the adventures it will bring,
