May 2023

May was so crazy busy for this family with all the May activities. Now that things are slowing down it's fun to look back and reflect on all the fun. Jefferson had his 3rd retake for school pics and finally came home with a great picture, so we celebrated with a Mama date at Old Spaghetti Factory- he is a mizithra fan. We celebrated Mom Dennis'  80th birthday- so fun to see all the family. Brad's birthday was next with pickle ball, mountain biking, and 2 types of curry. Carter made his 2nd soccer goal and said "Now I've made a goal in the rain and in the sun." We found a bike attachment for Carter and have had some fun family bike rides up to the lake. We finished all of our spring yard work and celebrated with a smore night with our friends. We had a lovely mothers day with a yummy dinner with both Mom Dennis and Mom Jefferson and the boys sang "Grandma I love you" for them. We had our family zoo day and Carter brought his little lion and monkeys so they could see the animals too. We spent extra time with the elephants to say goodbye before they are moved and were super lucky to see the polar bear diving and dancing in the water. When we were walking out Carter was super excited to find a newer looking Goggy and had to show Goggy his newer/cleaner brother. Carter is getting super creative with his play- building all sorts of cities and HQ's and pre bed time play is getting more and more creative- this months use of puppets as slippers brought the giggles to everyone. We were super happy to start festival season with Living Traditions- churros, concerts, hanging with friends. We had a fun family baseball night, so fun to see our hitter and catcher. We celebrated our 15th anniversary in Provo with dinner, a stroll by the Tabernacle/Temple, and comedy/improv night. Crazy it's been 15 years already, so happy to be still so in love. Jefferson graduated from 2nd grade and received the Eagle award-along with an award for math and good behavior. So proud of him and so grateful for his amazing 2nd grade teachers. May was soccer, soccer, soccer. Jefferson got 3 goals his last game, and Carter got 1 more goal "in the sun." They both progressed so much this year. Super grateful for their coaches. And we ended the month with the start of Summerfest- batting cages and miniature golf and found we have some golf lovers in our family. Our yard has loved this weather all month- everything is so green and lush and the grape vine we planted last year survived and grew a foot! Our favorite Carterism this month was when Carter told Brad "Dada I released a new album called "You will go to Jail." Carter loves coming up with new rock songs. Looking forward to the start of summer.
