Happy Halloween

This year Brad got to choose our costumes and he decided "80s Rockers"
He loved his tattoos:)
And it worked perfect for work because the girls wanted to dress up as 80s Rockers too!

Our first Camp-out

Due to our adventurous summers since we have been married Brad and I have missed the simple joys of camp-outs. So while in Istanbul's incessant humidity we planned a fall camping trip to Lake Powell. We wanted it to be somewhat warm and I had never been to Lake Powell (and yes I have lived in Utah my whole life). So we packed up our brand new tent from our wedding and sparse camping gear and set out for an adventure. We stayed with Kendra & Russ in Price and took a tour down memory lane as we toured CEU (my alma mater) including my old dorm "Sessions" which has still not been updated!!! We surprised cousin Ben with our impromptu visit. We then headed out to Lake Powell stopping for some hiking around Goblin Valley and Little Wild Horse Canyon (slot canyons are so fun!). Lake Powell was a lovely 75 degrees and breathtaking-from a first timers viewpoint. Brad impressed me with his ability to make a fire and put up a tent- probably not extremely difficult but I have lost all previous skills from girls camps. Without a boat we were somewhat limited in our activities but I enjoyed soaking up the sun and Brad found enjoyment in first chucking rocks as far as he could and then breaking huge rocks- seriously neanderthal behavior?????? We then took the scenic route home through Escalante and lots of national parks & forests. Unfortunately a quarter of the way through this scenic drive I found myself with food sickness-not fun!!! But we stopped in a little town called Torrey and Brad nursed me back to health. It was a trip to remember.

Superhero moms

We had a fun visit from my good friend Rozzie and her two little boys. I realized a few things while we adjusted our adult lifestyle about the superhero job and experience it is to be a mother.
Lesson 1
Rozzie and I went to dinner with our other friend from college and during this Sizzler outing I learned that mom's with kids under 2 don't get to eat warm food.
Lesson 2
After an outing with mom to Red Butte gardens and trying to hold a baby and steer a stroller I learned moms have to be super strong to go anywhere alone with 2 kids.
Lesson 3
We made brownies for a family shower and I learned if you ask a 2 year old to put chocolate bars on top don't be surprised if some end up in his mouth.
Lesson 4
Kids are fascinated with musical instruments, and Brad looked cuter than ever playing the guitar for these little boys.
Lesson 5
When you lay out a fun blanket, get in your PJs and pop some popcorn a regular movie then becomes a Party.
Lesson 6
Everyday bugs can be very interesting.
Lesson7
There is nothing quite like rocking a baby to sleep.
Lesson 8
When you come home from work and you don't here "hiiiiiiiiMawy" or "hiiiiBwad" followed by a running hug you miss it.
