May 2022

May was full of lots of fun times. We finished The Wizard of Oz Puzzle during dessert and game night with our Jefferson family. On May the 4th, Star Wars Day we watched all the lightsaber fights and the boys channeled their inner Jedi. Carter discovered a new calm down/time out place- mama and dada's bath tub. He also discovered his high pitched scream, but has decided that the belly breathing song works. The boys helped pot plants for grandmas for mothers day. We celebrated Brad's b-day week with School of Rock the musical and a family basketball game. Jefferson and Carter brought mama breakfast in bed and chocolates for mothers day. Sadly we all got a version of the May cold, but Carter entertained us with drumming and singing with his backwards baseball cap on- his favorites. Jefferson entertained us Saturday mornings in April and May with soccer. Carter created his own little basketball table top game with his guys. We crossed off "build a fort" on our winter bucket list. We all played hooky and had our annual zoo day. All the animals were out and active loving the cooler spring weather. Carter LOVED the monkeys and could not get enough of the baby gorilla. He asked if we could get a real monkey at the store for Goggy (his stuffed monkey) and him to play with. We celebrated our 14th anniversary with a dinner at the Bombay House and showing the boys our wedding video. Jefferson said dadda looks really different without whiskers but mama looks the same. In May Carter and Mama started letter of the week and activities for that letter during the week. It has been fun to watch Carter get so excited when he sees an A, B, C, or D on a sign or someones shirt. For D week we took a walk up to the lake to look for ducklings and found lots. Carter counted the ducklings while Dadda taught Jefferson how to skip rocks. We celebrated memorial weekend with a smore night and our annual heritage bbq with our family and friends.  Our favorite Carterisms were when he was thinking about what to get Brad for his birthday "Dadda likes books and computers and jackets and highchairs and some shows. Dadda likes Ryans World and Slither." Carter has also taken on the family responsibility of asking everyone their favorite moment of the day at dinner and if anyone else tries to ask, Carter gets upset. And our favorite Jeffersonism was his observation of mama's musical "why is she just randomly singing?" and Dadda's response "she's probably gone crazy all of a sudden." Such a funny crew! We are looking forward to those lazy summer days coming our way.
