April 2021

This April we dyed Easter eggs for the first time. It was a fun science experiment for Jefferson to mix colors. And we made Easter cookies and decorated them with sprinkles that ended up all over our kitchen. The boys searched for Easter eggs around the house and chowed down on their chocolate bunnies. After a year off due to Covid, we resumed the annual Jefferson Family Easter Egg Hunt, which seems to get bigger each year because the family is growing and the kids are getting older. We celebrated Mom Jefferson's bday with a dinner out at The Dodo and Carter was so happy to be Pop Pops date. With the warmer weather we have been in our back yard more. Brad put together a new grill and outdoor buffet table so we are ready for grilling season. The boys love to play basketball any chance they get and have made up many games on their swing set. We were surprised one day with Pop pop showing up to help fix our shed- so  so nice- and ever since then Carter checks the back window in the morning to look for Pop pop. We have been experimenting with dinner recipes and have found some healthy and not so healthy winners as well as a bread dough recipe that is super simple and delicious which we used to make cinnamon rolls for the first time- yum! Jefferson is just a month away from kindergarten graduation and he is reading books off the bookshelf in his room, he is a great little reader and we love to read with him. He started soccer and made his first goal this month. It's hard to believe Carter is going to be 3 in a few months. He is definitely getting more of an attitude and demanding his equal opportunity to do things. He takes care of his little Goggy like a baby doll and especially likes to comb his hair. He even speaks for Goggy in a high pitched baby voice. Our favorite Carterisms or Buggisms as Brad calls them are "My try..." when wanting a turn and "gibberish... OKay!" when he is trying to give a request- some might call being bossy which he must have learned from his father- wink wink.
