Oh Summer how we missed you! We started June with the end of the school year and celebrated the last day of school with one last scooter ride to school and ice cream with Dixie and Liam. 2020-2021 school year is a year to remember. We didn't quite know what the next day would bring and feel so grateful for all the educators and people that rallied to make this school year happen- one day at a time. We really couldn't have asked for a better kindergarten year and are going to miss Jefferson's kindergarten teacher and his little buddies. Next year we are excited to start a dual immersion school and continue our Spanish learning adventure. The first days of summer Carter discovered the joy of just hanging around. We celebrated Bug week and caught a few ants, spider, and bee. Jefferson drew an amazing picture in his nature book of the bee. We started our weekly pool visits to Mom and Dad D's pool and Carter and Dad D discovered they have many things in common- like the love of milk and a good nap. Jefferson challenged himself to read all of the Elephant and Piggie books mama could bring home from the school library and succeeded and Carter followed suite. We had a tiger family trip and went with Jon and Laura and their 5 kiddos to Island Park and Yellowstone. So beautiful, such great weather. Glamping- with people who have everything and know everything about camping is the way to go! We saw so many waterfalls, 2 moose, lots of Bison, an Elk herd crossing, Old Faithful, geysers galore, and our favorite the Yellowstone canyon at the top of the waterfall. Wow! And the Lakeside lodge did not disappoint with bounce houses, water trampolines and beautiful views. What a fantastic tiger family trip. Brad was Papa numero uno for Fathers day. We celebrated Dad D's 81st birthday with a dinner at Red Lobster. For Space Week this year we made a solar system and had fun with cousin Connor at the Space museum. Carter had his 1st dentist appointment and opened his mouth about half the time. We had a puzzle party with Angie and finished the impossible Liberty puzzle. And then commenced our Carter Bug's birthday week- birthday icecream and an outdoor concert, 2 pinatas (thank you to Dixie's bday party and the ward fiesta), birthday pancakes, and his 1st swimming lesson. And we ended the month with our 1st sleep over in nearly a year. Let the good times return. Carter and Jefferson keep us laughing everyday. Our 3 year old Carter and Goggy are attached at the hip.. He loves cars, superheroes. and his new favorite dancing and singing to Koo Koo Kangaroo. He has definitely pushed the limits lately as most 2/3 year olds do especially on his birthday when we learned you should never give a 3 year old a crown on his birthday- wow the tantrums because the birthday king was not given exactly what he wanted. And the next day when he realized he no longer was the birthday king he threw the biggest tantrum yet. Jefferson is reading books, asking questions and keeping us all learning. Our favorite Carterism this month was when we were walking at the farmers market and Jefferson saw spiderman and started singing "spiderman spiderman..." then Carter joined with the same tune "Captain America, Captain America..."
