October was packed with all the fun Halloween activities, the end of fall soccer season, and more. We started the season with a walk around Gardner village to see the witches and eat caramel apples. We discovered Carter has astigmatism in both eyes and so he got the cutest glasses. So handsome, if only his hair would stay in place (lol). We met up with mom and dad Jefferson in Park City and checked out the scarecrows and then boutiqued and got some chocolate on main street- our autumn tradition. We have been reading Harry Potter and it's so fun to see the boys re-enacting the story and throwing out spells in wizarding duels (though Carter is not reading it with me and Jefferson, he remember names and spells and all kinds of details.) We finished fall soccer season and the boys were so fun to watch, so fun to see their progress and love of the game and their teams. With a month of Halloween activities, just one costume is no fun, so the boys each had 2 costumes but our family costume this year was The Avengers- Brad as Thor, Mary as Captain Marvel, Jefferson as Spiderman, and Carter as Captain America. Love Halloween and all the activities in our community. We took a family bike ride up to the lake and found the famous Barbie street, but the Harry Potter house blew our minds! We met up with cousin at the museums and learned about the solar eclipse and then watched it on our deck- sadly we didn't end up making it to central utah to see the ring of fire. We couldn't miss the pumpkin regatta, the halloween car show, or trick or treat street, For fall break we staycationed and picked out our pumpkins, took a tractor ride with friends, and checked out a corn maze. We checked out Uptown Jungle and Carter had no fear. We painted and decorated pumpkins, Jefferson designed his own Harry Potter pumpkin complete with "I will not tell lies" in blood. We had a blast with cousins at the Aquarium and Carter saw penguins for the first time. We voted on our favorite carved pumpkin at the pumpkin walk and met the Addams family. Our Jefferson Halloween party was so fun- favorite activity being the mummy contest. On Halloween we watched Jefferson's parade and then went to breakfast (Carter's last year going with us-tear) and of course we went trick or treating and made our "pumpkin" pot pie while we watched Hocus Pocus- always our tradition. Favorite moments for October were seeing Carter trying so hard to play chess (5 years old) and hearing his "chess lessons." Seeing Jefferson and Carter creating a Lego world. When I spilled a ton of purple nail polish all over the bathroom (walls, floor, tub, everywhere) and Jefferson walked in and said "does this call for the F word." And when I was super emotional and crying here and there Carter gave me a big hug which made me cry more, so (as if they had been discussing this) he ran up to Jefferson and loudly whispered "she's crying again, I think its because I'm not a baby." They keep us laughing, so grateful to have these two boys.
