The zoo, hot dogs, and HUMIDITY!

These are our favorites from our trip to the national zoo. It's great, so much of the activities in DC. I liked the pandas, especially one of the baby pandas snacking on his bamboo, and Brad liked the kitty-cats the best, especially the tiger jumping in the water and playing with his ball. After the Zoo excursion we checked out a hip joint raved about in every tourist book called "Ben's Chilli Bowl" it seemed we were the only white people in that area of town. Different experience, very fun atmosphere, but the hot dogs didn't beat Provo's own J-Dawgs:) in my opinion. So after all this we should have called it good and headed back home on the Metro, but we wanted to check out the Smithsonian Folk Festival on the Mall so we ventured on and soon realized what people mean when they talk about DC humidity. All I can say is I never have been more jealous of girls in tanktops, short shorts, and pony tails in my life. After a crowded subway trip home, a no energy to do anything else nap, and basking in air conditioning I resolve to always wear my hear up in the city and that in regards to tourism- less is more.

DC Adventure

For those of you who don't know, two weeks after our honeymoon, Brad and I packed up our bags and headed to DC for the summer. Brad is doing an internship with the Department of Intelligence just outside DC. We will try and update you on all our adventures and excursions.

Honeymoon in Cancun

So after our beautiful Wedding Brad whisked me away to beautiful Cancun, Mexico. I was amazed with the blue blue water. Brad likes "alternative tourism" and typically stays away from tourist sites in order to experience the local culture. Thankfully he was considerate of his new wife and did not make our honeymoon so travel intense, but we did stay in the city versus the hotel zone so he was able to practice his spanish and try some local cuisine. We went all over to Isles Mujeres, Chichinitza, Puerto Murelos, and Playa Del Carmen. Everday was beautiful and with the exception of day 1 not too hot. In Playa Del Carmen we went snorkeling (1st time for me!) One night we even checked out the famous Margaritaville (Brad's 1st time.) FYI beach front property in Pueto Murelos is only 200,000 so if and when you are thinking of retiring remember that:)

The Big Day!

So we did it. May 27th all of the incredibly short term wedding plans worked out and we had a beautiful perfect day. Thank you to all of our family and friends who made it all possible. Here are a few pictures taken by Brad's mom. We haven't gotten around to ordering our pictures yet. Enjoy!
