June started off with end of school year celebrations. Jefferson received an Eagle Award at school for outstanding achievement- super proud of him! On the last day of school we met up with the Meeks family for the SOJO fair. And the next day Carter and Mama had a special date night at the fair and met spider man. It was a great way to kick off summer vacation. We made our summer bucket list with the goal to be outside lots and spend lots of time with friends and family. This year we joined a gym that has a resort-like outdoor pool with big slides and Jefferson passed off the swim test the first day, so he can go on the slides as much as he wants all summer. Carter decided his swim goal this summer is getting his head wet- baby steps, but he is showing much more progress with potty training- little by little. Cousin Forrest came for a sleep over and smores were the treat. We met up with cousins for boat racing and a picnic. We started off the hiking season to a small waterfall and Carter was impressive doing it all on his own. Pop pop decided he wants to be the favorite and made a deal to pay all the grandkids some money for keeping up their reading habits during the summer which Jefferson is happy to oblige. We started off summer concerts with nostalgic punk rock- LIT. June rainy days found us at the Childrens Museum- Carter's favorite thing was the store and making sandwiches for kids. We drove down south for a "tiger family trip" tasted famous pineapple fajitas and subzero icecream on our way to meet up with our Jefferson family at Cedar Breaks- swimming, bbq, biking, hiking, cave exploring, fishing movie time, and lots of games. On our way home we found some Petroglyphs and Dinosaur bones and stopped by the Beaver creamery. Goggy (Carter's monkey) was accidently left in Cedar Breaks but Pop pop and Grandma executed a rescue mission and Carter was able to reunite with his beloved Goggy before too many tears. Father's day the boys made dada breakfast and gave him games. We visited our Dennis family to celebrate Grandpa Dennis 82nd bday. The first big hike of the season was to Gloria Falls with Aunt Marce and Carter walked the whole way! More rainy days brought art time and another museum visit with cousins. We set up our fairy garden and started adding rocks from our hiking adventures. We went to the Latin Festival and enjoyed crafts and music. We ended the month with Carter's birthday week- minnion movie, birthday ice cream with grandma and pop pop, birthday pancakes, car restaurant for lunch, splash pad, pizza dinner, riding bikes, and a donut dessert. What a fun 4th birthday! We met up with cousins for another park and picnic adventure and stopped by the library. Love that these kids love to read. Jefferson discovered the game of Life and has spent hours playing with dada. And Jefferson wowed us with everything he has learned in rock climbing racing us up every climb at the gym. We are loving summer break!
