We survived "Maycember" as we are now calling May. It seems like everything happens in May, and getting sick for a week of it does not help. But taking the to do list 1 day at a time, we were able to finish the school year, soccer, and ALL the activities strong. Along with managing all of the spring yard work, and celebrating Brad's birthday, mother's day, our 16th Anniversary, and Carter's preschool graduation. The boys got to help carry out the flag for the Royals game with some fellow soccer friends. We celebrated May the 4th painting star wars rocks and finding out that Jefferson is a Sith and Carter a Jedi. Carter lost his first tooth and wrote a note to the tooth fairy to remember him- it was successful. Jefferson dressed up and did a fantastic presentation about Abraham Lincoln in the 3rd grade wax museum. Bella recovered from her spay surgery and was happy to be our active pup once again. Jefferson and Carter created a stuffie football game- love the creativity in these boys. Carter had space week for mama school and so we had a field trip to the space museum. We celebrated Brad's 44th bday. Jefferson so thoughtfully spent his own money to get his dada the latest velvet revolver cd and Carter bestowed the hammer of Thor upon Brad. We celebrated with mountain biking- 44 and still loving the thrill and Indian food and absolutely no yardwork or tasks. The boys surprised me with a cute Mama sweatshirt - with their names and Bella's name on it for Mothers Day. We had trucks week for mama school and saw the biggest trucks in the world at the Kennecott mine. On one of our many walks, Bella saw her very first ducklings and loved it. We had our last soccer games- what a fun spring season, it's so fun to watch the boys play and progress. We helped with the Around the World fair at Jefferson's school, and made the Guatemala booth. We learned about all the things that fly for mama school and took a field trip with Carter's best friend Santi to Tracy Aviary. We discovered how much fun a giant cup tower and remote control car can be with a puppy. We celebrated our 16th anniversary with a new tradition of trying a different cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory each year- this year it was Tiramisu and it did not disappoint. We cheered on Jefferson at his awards assembly- an Eagle award and the Hogwarts Hero award, so proud of our 3rd grader! Carter graduated from Upstart preschool, and Mama school and we celebrated with a donut tower and graduation party- so proud of our preschool graduate! Our favorite Carterism of the month was when we were sitting around the dinner table and out of nowhere Carter said "I have a riddle for you. What 2 things can you not have for breakfast?...lunch and dinner!" He executed it so perfectly, we were all so surprised and laughed and laughed. Another funny moment was we were sitting in church and he wrote a number on a paper and asked Brad, "what is this number" Brad said the number and Carter said "You are correct!" SoJo fest is the perfect celebration for the end of the school year. We had a mama sons date miniature golfing, and met up with cousins for the fair. Jefferson finished reading The Hobbit (with Mama) and is now excited for Lord of the Rings- at least the movies. And on the last day of school Jefferson proudly wore his Messi Jersey (he bought himself) and we sang schools out for the summer while opening our end of school year gifts. We are so ready for a relaxing Summer!
