We had a busy magical December. It started off with the Giving Machine tradition with Grandma and Pop Pop. The boys were happy to let Mary have a girls night at Christkindlmarkt. We took Bella to her first Light the Night. And we had Brad's holiday work dinner at Little America and checked out the Grand's gingerbread house, temple square, and found the biggest Christmas tree in the city. Carter visited Santa at our neighborhood's night of giving (poor Jefferson was feeling sick and stayed home). We were Santa's elves for the school's sub for Santa. Puzzle season commenced with finishing the National Parks puzzle that sat on the island downstairs for nearly a year. Jefferson had his first band concert playing the glockenspiel and did great! We played bingo and the boys visited Santa at the Hebdon Christmas party. Brad and Mary arranged a Christmas song- The Christmas Waltz, for our ward Christmas party and it was a hit and Jefferson fulfilled his promise of dancing with mama afterwards. We went to the annual Delta center concert and Carter perked up when Santa came on stage and even tried to use his watch as a light during a song when everyone was using their phones. Poor Carter was off and on feeling sick for a few weeks in December- definitely not his energetic self. We visited Grandma Great and gave her some flowers and played duets. The grandparents came over for our gingerbread house party- this time not a kit, all creativity. We made our Christmas star cookies and delivered them to our neighbors and friends. We invited some friends for our sing along and Carter sang his song for school- Frosty the Snowman and we sang Spanish Christmas songs with our friends, and Jefferson and Mary played some piano duets (every mom's dream). We celebrated Christmas Eve with our Jefferson family- nativity, dinner, duets, bells and then we read our own night before Christmas books and got the cookies ready for Santa. Christmas morning everyone (including Bella) was so excited to open their stockings, grandparents came over to open gifts and have brunch. It was a lovely Christmas but sadly after Christmas we were hit with a lousy sickness that took out everyone but Carter. We spent the rest of our break- including new years eve watching movies and doing puzzles. Carter made us laugh after he sat through a few hours of pride and prejudice and was telling Brad about the movie, he was hoping to see sword fighting and said "Mr. Dartston" was training to do sword fighting and then he asked if "those ladies" ever got married. It was an anticlimatic end of 2025, and we agreed we would officially celebrate the new year during Chinese New Year this year.
