Great news!

Hey friends and family we are happy to announce our engagement for May 27, 2008 in the Salt Lake City Temple. We met and had our first date last September. September 15th to be exact at the Hare Krishna Temple festival in Spanish Fork, Utah. After a couple more dates and some hangouts we were "together" and have been ever since. We met in an LDS singles ward- so for all of our friends in the single ward realm- it works!

First Impressions

Mary: I first noticed his green eyes, great build (tall), and sophisticated personality. After our first date I told my roomate in a daze I think I just went out with Indiana Jones still in school. I was amazed that anyone could have traveled to so many countries, speak so many languages, have an intellectual side as well as a goofy sense of humor and be interested in dating me. It was a perfect first date and for the first time in my dating life went completely smooth afterwards- absolutely no drama.

Brad: So I went and visited my old ward to see what it was like. I was hoping to see some new faces and distinctly remember catching eye contact with Mary as I was standing at the door. Her face definitely stood out. Then I remember happening to sit down by her after church at the little 'mix and mingle' function that they had. My first impression was that it was easy to engage in lively conversation with her and I readily found that we had a lot it common. It was refreshing to talk with someone that had also been to graduate school. She most definitely seemed like someone that I would like to take out on a date. A couple of Sundays after, I found that I was not alone in wanting to talk with her. I found many other guys sitting by her and engaging in casual flirtation. But I was not deterred in my determination to ask her out. Luckily the India fest at the Hare Krishna temple was right around the corner and that place had always been a good place for a date. So I called her up and asked her out. When I went to pick her up I just remember how lively and energetic she was. Our conversation throughout the entire date flowed and she seemed to be very friendly. Fortunately she really enjoyed our first date as well. So arranging for a second date went smoothly and it everything just seemed to fall into place.
