Brad slept well and had no sign of kidney stone pain when we woke up so we decided to try some more sites. First up The Catacombs, unfortunately this was the longest line ever!!!! A minimal 3 hour wait. We took turns standing in line for 30 minutes until Brad said he was over it. I was not that excited to see the catacombs anyway so we left and to find Pont Neuf, the city's oldest bridge. We got caught up in the tourist excitement and bought a lock, wrote our names on it, and locked our love forever in Paris.
We took a stroll and browsed the old books for sale along the river- there is something about old books that gets me. We found Les Halles square and Pomidour Museum of Modern Art. The architecture of this building is art itself and inside the shapes, color, and objects making art were fun to explore. We played the game- what does this mean, and threw around words like gestalt and existentialism. So overall Paris was rubbing off on us.In the past couple days it was interesting to see the history of art- from old art in The Louvre to Impressionism to Vangogh to Picasso, and now the age of modern art where a bunch of garbage strategically placed creates art. Even Brad started saying how the art made him feel and what it meant to him- given the debacle of one of our first dates looking through art books this was and me saying "what does this mean to you?" and him looking at me like I'm from Mars- this was a miracle.
We had read on a food blog that the best falafel you will ever have in is Paris, so we checked out the place and DELISH! Yep, best falafel we have ever eaten. We spent the rest of the evening strolling down the Marais and looking at all the fun shops- "Parisians love to stroll- to see and to be seen." We had some delicious gelato for dessert. One thing you notice in Paris is all of the people sitting at the cafes- the tables are turned out so they can watch the people strolling by. This is the place to be on a Saturday night.
